The images included in this post show you where and how to take your measurements on your body if you are purchasing a dress in-store or online, or buying a sewing pattern and learning to sew.

You need to take the measurements in the correct place to obtain a great fit.

There are other areas where measurements are taken, but this post starts with the basic ones to purchase a dress.

You may need to add the neck, sleeve length or bicep measurements depending on the style of dress you are purchasing.
