We pride ourselves on providing high quality one-on-one and small group lessons to people of all ages and skill levels. Our staff are certified in vocational education and training (TAE), and have many years experience in both teaching fashion as well as working in the industry.

Lessons do not have to follow a set structure or pre-defined content and can focus on any area of fashion that you wish to learn more about. Simply speak to your tutor prior to or during the lesson.

Please note we are not an RTO – we cannot issue nationally recognized certificates. Our lessons are best suited to people wanting to learn specific skills or improve their sewing abilities, those seeking to learn more about any and all aspects of the fashion industry from design to production, and students who are currently undergoing formal training (eg. TAFE fashion courses) and would like more personalized assistance with their studies or skills they are having difficulty with.

I have been doing work experience at Sew n Design for the past few weeks and have learnt how to construct a sample, use a cover seam machine, overlocking, sewing and how to build rapport with clients etc. It is a great opportunity to work with Gwenda and learn from someone with past industry experience who genuinely wants to help you to grow your skills. Gwenda is also patient, friendly, passionate about what she does and delivers her work with professionalism. If anyone would like to do some work experience during uni breaks, I would definitely recommend Sew n Design.
